  • COMO Digital Life is a bank challenger, not a traditional bank. While COMO offers much of the same functionality as a bank, we belong to a different category known as a payment institution. COMO clients get access to a rich array of payment and banking services, without having to commit to any traditional bank in particular.

    On the other hand, there are certain banking products that COMO cannot offer, such as providing loans, issuing credit cards, offering saving accounts, and accepting deposits.

     

    For a payment institution, holding your money is not the same as it is for a bank. By law, COMO is required to keep all our clients’ money separate from our own funds. Known as the safeguarding mechanism, this means all your funds are held separately, with carefully selected correspondent banks in Europe. COMO does not generate loans, speculative instruments, or investment risk. No client funds are ever loaned, leveraged, or invested. All your money is always immediately available upon demand.

  • You can have your COMO account up and running within three business days if you follow these easy steps: 

     

    • Complete a short questionnaire to provide information about your business. This should take around 10 minutes. Click here to open an account

    • Fill out the Ultimate Beneficial Owners (UBO) declaration

    • Make sure you have the required documents ready to upload. They are listed at the beginning of the questionnaire. 

    • Submit the form. Our client support team will set up your account within three business days (72 hours) so you can be up and running. In some cases, we might call you for further information depending on the complexity of your business. 

    • Activate your COMO account by making a first transfer into it. It is ready to use right after you have done this. 

  • No, they’re both different ways of referring to the same concept. It’s worth clarifying a normal bank account has both a basic bank account number (BBAN) and an International Bank Account Number (IBAN). However, the extra information included as part of an IBAN is beneficial when making cross-border payments.
